Bay Ridge Life

I think of my Brooklyn neighborhood as the biggest small town in America. It has an interesting history and some traditions that date back many generations. It has always been family oriented and, decades ago, members of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team lived here and played stickball in the street with the local kids. The current residents are a mix of old timers and newer settlers who have helped to diversify the neighborhood. There is usually something going on - parades, fundraisers, festivals, art exhibits, block parties, school events... Did I mention that we love a good parade? We have some of the oldest running ones in NYC.
