Coney Island, NY

In the early 1900s my grandfather had a band concession on the Coney Island boardwalk that played original compositions by the Gershwins and their contemporaries. This was an important avenue to showcase their work and to sell sheet music to the public. Seeing Coney Island continue to reinvent itself and and remain such a vital part of Brooklyn and NYC is fascinating.
