Growing A Wild NYC

This wonderfull program was a partnership between the National Park Service and the National Wildlife Federation. It provided school children across NYC (kindergarden through high school) with the opportunity to learn about gardening, native plants, and pollinators like bees and butterflies. The kids grew native plants in their classrooms over the winter and then helped create a pollinator garden at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in the spring. I photo-documented the program over a period of several weeks.
